Villa Brizay is situated high in the Monte Puchol area of Javea, close to the Old Town. You have stunning views across the Javea valley with Calpe in the distance. Views extend across the bay to Cabo Negro, and on a clear day you can see Ibiza on the horizon. The views are equally fantastic at night when there is a mass of twinkling lights to gaze at.

This two storey property is very large and with three master bedroom suites the villa is perfect for one, two or three families to enjoy a holiday. Perfect for 3 generations as well.

On the main floor there is the large lounge and dining room leading to the kitchen. The kitchen, although somewhat dated, is huge! and is very well equipped. Equipment includes dishwasher, oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and all the crockery, cutlery etc you need for your holiday.

The kitchen leads out to the L-shaped covered terrace and bar. Here there is a very comfortable seating area and a large table where guests will enjoy lazy meals while gazing out at the view. All the windows slide back fully so you can enjoy the welcome breeze in the summer, and take advantage of the low sun in the winter.

The swimming pool is surrounded by a paved terrace equipped with sun beds for everyone. There are a couple of parasols for shade round the pool and a table and chairs complements the pool furnishings. There is a portable Weber kettle barbecue.

The master bedroom suite with ensuite bathroom (fully refurbished in 2016) is on the main level of the villa. The bathroom has a beautiful free-standing bath and a separate large walk-in shower. His and hers hand basins complete this stylish new bathroom.

Also on the main level is a separate cloakroom with handbasin and wc and this was also completely refurbished in 2016.

Downstairs there are four more bedrooms. One is the same size as the master suite and also has an ensuite bathroom with sunken bath and separate walk-in shower. This bedroom has a comfortable king size bed.

Then there is another double bedded room with a king-size bed. This bedroom has an ensuite shower room with a huge walk-in shower.

There are two twin bedded rooms, both with ensuite shower rooms and completely refurbished in 2016.

It is downhill most of the way to the Old Town, but you may want to take a taxi back up the hill. You can walk down to the Port area (Aduanas del Mar) in about 25 to 30 minutes.

From Villa Brizay it is 20 minute stroll to Javea Old Town, the Centre Historic. When you wander around  Javea Old Town you will find lots of cafes, bars and restaurants tucked away down the narrow streets.

The covered market “Mercado de Abastos” is well worth a visit, if only just to look around. Full of wonderfully fresh fruit and vegetables, you will also find the two best fresh fish counters in Javea (in this writer’s opinion!). Fish caught locally is auctioned in the fish market in Javea Port and is usually on sale in the Mercado de Abastos from about 18h00 (6pm) onwards. Not cheap, but certainly very fresh!

Next to the “Mercado de Abastos” you find the church of Sant BartomeuThis fortified church dates back to the 14th century, with some parts maybe dating right back to the 11th century. The church is built out of the local Tosca stone, hewn from the shore between the present day Parador hotel and the Aduanas del Mar Port of Javea. The church was badly damaged during the Spanish Civil War and as you look at the outer walls you can still see signs of bullets and shells. Around the church square are a number of bars and restaurants where you can sit out and enjoy a coffee or a meal. Take the steps down under the Town Hall to another square with more outdoor cafes. Or wander down the narrow street opposite the main church door and discover three wonderful little restaurants.

When you stay at Villa Brizay you will find an information book at the villa with extensive information about not only the workings and idiosyncrasies of the villa itself, but also lots of information about the surrounding area, including restaurants, bars and places to visit. And of course you will have our friendly local staff on hand to help and advise you if you need it. On arrival at your villa you will be given 24/7 emergency phone numbers, as well as numbers you can call during the day for help and advice.
